Place2Be and Willow Tree Family Support

The Family Support Team at Willow Tree Primary is available for all Willow Tree families. We provide a wide range of services, from drop-in advice on surviving life as a parent, to help with housing and financial concerns. We can signpost families to Salford's Early Help Services.

The Family Support Team runs family activities  and classroom based workshops. We are here to listen to the concerns of families, provide advice and guidance and to signpost to helpful agencies. If families struggle with attendance or lateness, we have a range of support to put in place following an assessment of need.

There are two members of the Family Support Team, Hugh Thorpe (Family Officer), and Vikki Scholes (Learning Mentor).

The Family Support Team assesses the needs of families on a daily basis. Often this is done through completion of an Early Help Assessment, with parental consent  which details need and identifies clear outcomes and actions. This enables us to support families in a way that really works and sees positive change take place.

About Place2Be

Place2Be is a charity that helps children who need emotional support by giving them a space where they can express their feelings. This can happen through talking, art and play. Place2Be works with children, parents and staff in schools and works with Willow Tree School to create a service within the school. A leaflet is available to tell you more about Place2Be and its work.

Place2Talk

One part of the service is Place2Talk - a lunchtime drop-in service which will be open to all pupils every Wednesday and Thursday. Here, pupils can make an appointment to spend 15 minutes to talk about friendships, concerns or any worries they may have. This is a very popular service and children/pupils can attend by themselves or with friends.
