Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers.

School’s are given pupil premium for:

  • Children who have qualified for free school meals at any point in the past six years and children of armed service personnel. We receive £1300 for each of these children.
  • Children who have been looked after under local authority care for more than one day. We receive £1900 for these children.

Schools can choose how to spend their pupil premium money as they are best placed to identify what would be of most benefit to the children who are eligible.

At Willow Tree we have analysed our barriers for learning, which include language and communication, low levels on entry to school, school readiness, identified lack of some parental engagement and identified barriers for learning including resilience and independence.

Pupil premium spending decisions are reached by an analysis of pupil outcome data and termly monitoring in school.

Our pupil premium strategy and impact report can be found on this page.
