Willow Tree Primary School provides a welcoming and positive environment where pupils are polite, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. The school has high academic and social expectations for all pupils, including those with SEND, and pupils generally meet these aspirations. Behaviour is exemplary, and pupils are proud of their school, showing independence and respect for others.

 

The curriculum is carefully sequenced, enabling strong progress from early years to Year 6, with a particular emphasis on reading. Staff are knowledgeable and support pupils effectively, especially in early reading, resulting in confident, fluent readers. Pupils enjoy diverse personal development opportunities, and the school fosters community involvement and ambition for future success.

 

Areas for improvement include more consistent identification and correction of errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation, as well as strengthening the teaching of handwriting to ensure all pupils develop effective writing skills.

 

Attendance is a high priority and well-managed.

 

Governors and staff work collaboratively, prioritising both school improvement and staff well-being.

 

Safeguarding is effective.
