Head Teachers cannot grant any leave of absence except in exceptional circumstances. Exceptional circumstances do not include taking holidays in term time.
If you take your child out of school during term-time the Education Welfare Service will be advised and you risk receiving a £160 penalty notice. This fine will be discounted to £80 if paid within the first 21 days. If you do not pay the fine this may result in legal action.
